The Performance of Plastic Nylon Gears You Haven't Yet Understood

Plastic nylon gears have the following advantages: they are non-toxic, lightweight, extremely strong, and have excellent wear resistance, making them widely used to replace copper and other metals in the manufacture of bearings, gears, pump blades, and other parts in the machinery, chemical, instrumentation, and automotive industries. They also possess good corrosion resistance. Polyamide has high strength after melt spinning. It is mainly used as synthetic fibers and medical sutures. It is a truly self-lubricating nylon, forming a liquid lubrication system during the casting process, which greatly improves the service life of oil-filled nylon bearings, making it six times longer than ordinary nylon 6 bearings and 25 times longer than phosphor bronze bearings!

The performance of plastic nylon gears:
(1) High strength, able to withstand loads for a long time;
(2) Wear-resistant and self-lubricating, performing better than bronze, cast iron, carbon steel, and phenolic laminates in oil-free or (oil-removed) lubrication applications, reducing consumption and saving energy;
(3) Sound absorption and vibration damping. The modulus of MC nylon is much smaller than that of metal, and the vibration damping is large, providing a practical method for preventing noise more effectively than metal.
(4) Low coefficient of friction, widely used in friction parts;
(5) High chemical stability, resistant to alkalis, alcohols, ethers, hydrocarbons, weak acids, lubricating oils, detergents, and water (seawater), and is odorless, non-toxic, tasteless, and rust-free, with excellent corrosion resistance. Plastic nylon gears are widely used in mechanical parts due to their alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, environmental friendliness, and suitability for applications in food, textile dyeing, and other industries;
(6) Plastic nylon gears cannot be used in the following two environments:
A. Operating temperature exceeding 120℃ for extended periods
B. Strong acids, phenol, chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, barium chloride, etc.
Due to the comprehensive performance of plastic nylon gears, their position in engineering plastics has rapidly increased, becoming an important material for mechanical parts, and their applications are continuously expanding.
